STRUKTOL® TR 063A is a unique process additive designed specifically for use in polyamides. Whether you need improved filler dispersion, lower process temperatures or better metal release, our additive - through its exceptional compatibility with the polymer - is the solution you have been looking for.
A loading level of 0.5 – 2.0% of TR 063A is all you need to achieve:
15% glass filled nylon 66 compound
|CONTROL||2% TR 063A|
|Extruder Motor Load, %||55||38|
|Tensile Strength, kpsi||10.6||10.1|
|Tensile Elongation, %||1.6||2.1|
|Flexural Modulus, kpsi||540||500|
|Notched Izod, ft. lbs./in.||0.8||0.9|
Nylon compounds containing TR 063A have been shown to run without beard formation on the edges of dies for significantly longer periods of time than compounds without it. This is due to the superior metal release characteristics provided by our additive resulting in smoother extrusions, fewer compound/part defects and increased productivity. Not only will the improvements be seen during the compounding stage, but end-processors will also see lower machine torques and pressures and a more consistent, user friendly compound.
|CONTROL||2% Montan Wax E||1% TR 063A||2% TR 063A|
|Flow Length, inches||18.5||19.3 (+4%)||19.5 (+5%)||23.6 (+28%)|
Struktol now also offers two unique products that combine a compatibilizer with lubricants to create a combination product that aids in the incorporation of fillers (mineral or glass) with improved mixing and flow properties as well as mold release. This results in better processing, improved surface quality and in some cases better physical properties.
STRUKTOL® TR 219 is for use in Nylon 6 and 6,6 and has been found to also work in PET compounds, especially recycled applications or in the case of PET contaminated with other plastics.
STRUKTOL® TR 229 for use in both PC and PC/ABS blends as well as Nylon 6 and 6,6 compounds. It is also ideal for use in recycled applications.
